About
Hi, I'm interested in cultural anthropology, sociolinguistics, archaeology, and ethnobiology. I've done research in Nepal and India for several years and speak Nepali well, Hindi not so well. I've also done research for shorter periods of time with Native Americans in southern California and in Moquegua, Peru.
Currently teaching "Archaeology of Asia," I'm writing a lot of new lectures. When not gearing up for class, I'm slowly knitting together an annotated dictionary of the Raute language, a Tibeto-Burman language. Another project on the horizon involves pulling together papers from colleagues for an edited volume about cultural resilience among hunter-gatherers worldwide.
